Off Peak HoursWhile we obviously don't recommend avoiding sunlight altogether, we do recommend choosing the right time to use the room that gets flooded with sunlight most. For example, if you have a sunny room that you use to workout in, wait until the brightest of sunlight passes through that room before you start exercising. Not only will your activity be less hindered by the sunlight, the room will have cooled by about 10% after the peak of its sunlight hours.

Choose The Right ScreensWorking on your computer while dealing with sun glare is annoying at best. To combat this, position your computer or work surface away from direct sunlight, and use an anti-glare screen to cover your monitor. Find a screen with a blue light filter, which helps to block hazardous UV light, and will also help with eye strain from the monitor itself.

Add Some TintTinting your windows is another way to handle sun glare, especially for rooms with floor to ceiling windows, patio doors or other windows that can't be easily covered with window treatments. A window tint is an easy way to filter out excess light, cut down on UV rays and even help to cool your room. Window tints also come in a variety of styles, so not only will they help to combat sun glare, they can add a decorative touch to your home as well!

Consider Window TreatmentsCovering your windows with curtains may seem like the obvious answer to combating to sun glare, but you should consider the different types of window treatments for your needs. For example, room darkening curtains may be a great idea for the bedroom, since they will help to block morning sunlight. But room darkening curtains can be too heavy for the living or dining room. Instead, you may want to opt for sheer panels, which will still let in sunlight while cutting down on the glare. Alternatively, al fresco blinds might be the perfect solution for all of the windows in your house.
