But for real, here are some great hair care tips for keeping your mane happy and healthy, along with our picks for the best hair care products for all different hair types. Whether your hair is curly, wavy or straight, these amazing hair care products will do right by you! Hair Products And Hair Care Tips For All Hair TypesCurly Hair
I have a curly haired girl in the house, so I know all too well how easy it is to go from luscious curls to fright-wig frizz. Here are the best steps to take when caring for curly hair:
Use a shampoo for your hair type, preferably a sulfate-free product. Sulfates may strip away moisture from the hair, leaving it dry and damaged. Additionally, sulfates tend to make the scalp dry and irritated. Look for products with argan oil and / or keratin. Argan oil helps to lubricate the hair shaft, helping it retain moisture. While keratin helps to fight frizz, tame flyaways, and protect against heat damage caused by styling tools like a straightening iron or blow dryer. Please don’t towel dry your pretty wet hair by rubbing it. While this method of drying hair works great for straight haired gals, girls with curls need to avoid doing this for fear of winding up with a frizzy, matted mess. Instead, gently throw your hair up LOOSELY in something like a Turbie Twist to dry, then use a wide tooth comb and comb through hair, g e n t l y. Use products that will help your hair stay moisturized and frizz-free, such as the Hair Milk Perfect Curls Collection by Carol’s Daughter. While these products contain a bunch of unpronounceable ingredients, they don’t contain sulfates, parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, or artificial colors. Be mindful to blow dry with care! Girls with curls should really use a diffuser when blow drying their hair to avoid winding up with a frizzy mess. To keep curls tight, a low setting is best, while scrunching hair between fingers and oscillating the dryer. You can even use a product like Bed Head’s Foxy Curls Hi Def Curl Spray to help define your curls and avoid frizz while you diffuse. Wavy Hair
Wavy haired gals get off a little easier than curlier haired girls because of the texture of their curl--it’s generally softer, flatter at the scalp and gets curlier (or wavier) toward the bottom.
While wavy haired girls can use the same sort of shampoo as their curly haired sisters, the same conditioners / treatments / stylers can weigh heavy on their hair. Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner is a dual-purpose, moisture-adjusting product. This smart formula adjusts moisture as needed and works two ways: As a one-minute rinse out, it boosts moisture levels with essential lipids and proteins. As a leave-in lotion, it provides continuous moisturizing and suppleness to unusually dry hair. Try a wave enhancing product like Redken's Curvaceous Wind Up. It's formulated with Redken's Curl Memory Complex with sugar crystals and moringa oil to curls a wake-up call, boosting shape and shine. Remember to use a diffuser attachment on your blow dryer to help dry your hair and to keep waves in check.

Straight Hair
Straight haired ladies, you have it the easiest. You can treat your normal, dry or oily hair without having to worry about humidity and frizz. If your hair is thick line mine, consider adding layers, which will help lighten the weight of your hair and add a bit of volume. If your hair is thinner and/or stick straight, simply trim split ends once a month and you are good to go!
Be sure to use a product that’s most appropriate for your hair type. My favorite product is Aveda Shampure. It's a pure, daily shampoo that cleanses and fortifies hair. Towel dry your hair until damp, then work in a product that will protect and shine, like . Apply this product before blow drying, and you'll find that it is virtually weightless and will make your hair soft, glossy and keep flyaways at bay. You won’t need much else, unless you finish up your routine with a flat iron or curling iron, in which case you may want to consider a heat protectant like Bumble + Bumble's Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer. This hair treatment formula helps protect against heat, breakage, and UV damage. Dry Shampoo
Perfect for in-between washings, as a root volumizer or just for use in a pinch, dry shampoo could be a lifesaver. Mei and her team over at reviews.com recently researched the best (and affordable!) dry shampoos based on whether you’re seeking an eco-friendly, drugstore, or salon quality formula. Mei said that for her, dry shampoo has become an absolute must in her regular hair care regimen - seriously saving her time and reducing the damage from one-too-many balayagé treatments! Mei and her team put in over 45 hours of research and literally hand tested 17 (17!) products to bring you their top picks, runners up and even a guide on how to use dry shampoos! If you're a user of dry shampoo or just curious about it, this review is not to be missed.
Dandruff Treatments
During the winter I tend to suffer from a wee bit of dandruff, and I found that The Body Shop's Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo helps so much. It's made with vegan silk protein, birch bark and white willow bark extracts and smells nothing short of delicious!
I also recommend their ginger scalp serum, which helps tremendously with itchy, dry scalp (something many of us suffer from in during colder temperatures), This scalp serum also contains birch bark and white willow bark extracts, and helps to rebalance the scalp from excess oils and sebum.

I have quite fine, wavy hair and find that a lot of products either weigh my hair down or make it super frizzy. I use the moisturizing shampoo that my hairdresser uses from a brand called ALCINA and love it!

Oh, it's nice to see the new options for curly hair! I've been straightening my hair with the Brazilian Blowout for years, and I barely remember what it's like to have curly hair :) I'd love to get back to it, but I always worry it's a lot more work than having it straight.

It's interesting to know that Aveda products would be a pure, daily shampoo that can clease and fortify our hair. I plan to see a professional to give me recommendations about my hair, because it easily gets dry. They might suggest this and offer some treatments as well to fix my locks to help me look good.
