A wedding photographer is no doubt an important part of any wedding budget. Beautiful, creative wedding photographs are meant to be taken of your special day, and that doesn’t come cheap. A good, reputable photographer can run thousands of dollars, and their job is to capture irreplaceable moments and translate them into timeless photographs.
Uhhh, but then what? Display your wedding photos in a gifted frame on the fireplace mantle? A wedding photo here and there, scattered around the house? A 10 lb. wedding album that sits on a coffee table in the room reserved for company, just collecting dust? No hate no shade but come on, y'all--it's a new millennium--we can do better than that! Photo Display Options For Your Treasured Photographs
A Gallery Wall
DIY gallery walls have been around about as long as Pinterest has (and then some), but that’s because they’re an awesome way to display several photos at once, and you can get pretty creative with your photo display. Here is a great tutorial for putting together a photo gallery wall, using frames in all different sizes and shapes. And here are some really crafty gallery walls, displaying wedding photographs, compliments of Ali at ltlphoto!
I also lurvvvvv this single display, from Negin Mirsalehi’s Instagram (left). According to her, there are 98--count ‘em, 98--images in this frame!
A Polaroid Display
Understandably so, not everyone has the space for a gallery wall in their home. Or maybe you do, but you are soooo over it. How about taking some of your wedding images and printing them out Polaroid-style, and making a sweet display? You can find a bunch of different ideas for creating similar displays over at deerpearflowers.com.

A Window Frame Display
This rustic photo display is sure to complement any sort of casual, farmhouse, cottage, country or shabby chic home design. Personally, I love the look of black and white photos in a window frame display, but you do you, boo! A bit of fabric, stickers or scrapbook paper, doilies, raffia and the like adds color and texture to your display, too. Use a single window frame or multi pane. Paint to match your decor, or leave aged and distressed. It’s a DIY project that is truly all yours. Check out A Dollop Of My Life to learn how to create your own antique window picture display.
A Digital Frame
I have loved digital frames the minute I set my eyes on one. How freakin’ clever, I thought--taking the images off my memory card or USB drive and uploading them directly to a photo frame that will rotate the images like my own personal slideshow? Of course, that was like 100 years ago. OK, ok...more like ten. And now it seems that what was once futuristic technology is now, well, a bit antiquated. I mean, what if I wanted to take all these amazing pics that are sitting on my phone and put them on my digital frame? I guess I can use a cloud service to transfer the pics from my phone to my computer. Then I can connect the frame to my computer. Then upload the pics to the frame. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But whyyyyyyyy? Why hasn't anyone upgraded digital frame technology in like 10+ years? Actually, they have. Aura Frames has taken novelty digital frames and kicked them up a notch--or two, or three!
Aura frames are beautiful 8 x 12 acrylic digital picture frames--for use in either portrait or landscape orientation--and are available in ivory with rose gold trim (rose gold! *swoons*) or black with charcoal trim. They come with a stand for tabletop use and have accessories for hanging on the wall.
The Aura screen has the same retina display as an ipad, which makes pics look really sharp. But what really takes the Aura frame to the next level is it’s use of modern technology like facial recognition, gesture control, sensors and, most importantly (IMO), a mobile app. The smartphone mobile app syncs a photo album that you created to the device, or you can use the facial recognition software to identify the faces in your photos to automate the process. Use the “Smart Select” feature to automate updating the frame with your images. The best part? The app will filter out bad photos and dupes, and there’s even a nudity filter so grandma doesn’t see your boudoir pics. Assuming you have boudoir pics, that is.
Speaking of grandma, you can invite your family and friends to collab on your photo albums. They can add their own pics to your frame through the mobile app for an ever-changing, social photo album experience!
Another great feature of the Aura frame is the sensors that determine if you are in the room with it. If you leave and come back, a new pic will be there to greet you. Want to change the pics yourself? Use “gesture control”: swipe back and forth in front of the frame to toggle between your pics. And oh yeah, when you turn off the lights, the frame turns off too. How convenient!
The Aura Frame is so hip, it even made Oprah’s list of favorite things in 2016. She, too, is looking out for grandma:
"This digital frame is magic! Download and sync the app, and with the Family Share option, Grandma can see your latest photos on her frame all year long, no social media required." — Oprah Aura Frames make such a great gift, perfect for the happy couple--or yourself!
