Men's Guide To Wedding Fashion With BonobosSummer wedding season is in full swing, kids! How many invites did you get this year? Two, three, maybe four? Gah, my condolences. I mean, that's terrific! I bet not all of them are traditional weddings, either. Beach side nuptials, rented estates, destination weddings--the locales are almost endless these days--and that's a good thing! But, whatcha wearin'??? Better yet, what's your man wearing??? Wait, let me guess: the designated wedding/funeral suit you bought him 15 years ago that still sorta fits, if he leaves the jacket buttons undone, amirite? Ugh, woman! It's time to retire that thing and treat him to some fresh new threads. Enter Bonobos. Bonobos is the home of better-fitting menswear and an easier shopping experience. Their motto? "Menswear founded on fit, built on service, and focused on style." Booyah! A perfect fashion trifecta. Founded 10 years ago in NYC, they began by selling simple chino pants on the web. But Bonobos has grown exponentially over the years, and now offers shirts, suits, active wear and formal wear, and has several brick-and-mortar locations, as well as boutiques in Nordstrom, too. A cool feature of their brick and mortar stores? Customers are fitted on site, and their new threads are shipped to them when ready! Check out some of the sweet wedding guest looks I put together with Bonobos. Whether it's beach and destination weddings, formal celebrations or casual nuptials, Bonobos has some amazing options.
Beach / Destination Weddings:
The beach / destination wedding is somewhere between an upscale backyard barbeque and a formal-fancy event. Chances are, you'll be in the sun for a good deal of time, and your man isn't looking forward to sweating under his monkey suit. You'll also be walking in sand, so fancy shoes just won't do. These looks keep it cool, comfortable and stylish. If the celebration lasts into the evening, hubs can always throw on a lightweight cotton silk crew neck.
Formal Celebrations:
A formal event in the summer does not mean having to suffer through wearing a heavy, dark suit. While dark colors are always appropriate for weddings, opt for lighter-weight fabrics such as seersucker or linen. Speaking of linen, I chose to keep this suit choice simple and sophisticated by going tieless. And it's always fun to show off a bit of personality with with accessories; in this case, cufflinks--Harry Potter, dice and sugar skulls!
Casual Nuptials:
Casual weddings are awesome! They're your friends and family, and they just get it. No overly presumptuous stuffiness here. But hey, let's have a little class and NOT show up in that tuxedo tee shirt bae thought was so rad back in the day, mmkay? This unconstructed blazer paired with a buttoned up polo is far from frumpy, and they show off your man's amazing personality and sense of fashion!
I'm loving these summer wedding looks--whether they are casual, formal or somewhere in between--Bonobos is stylish and classic, yet always on trend.

A post like this is badly needed. I feel like it's always the men who wear the same thing over and over again to weddings.
