Summer can be a harsh time for our hair. While it might not be as rough as the cold season, it can still take a bit of work to get our hair looking as sleek and shiny as it does in other seasons. With the boosted temperature that makes you sweat and UV rays which can damage your scalp, it’s important to look after your luscious locks during this hot season.
So to help you out, we’ve prepared a couple of summer tips to help you achieve that gorgeous summer hair that you’ve always wanted.

Gorgeous Summer Hair Is Easier to Achieve Than You Think
Lower the heat
The last thing you want to do is add to the already hot and dry heat in the air. If you’re going to be exposed to heat on a regular basis, then try not to blow-dry your hair at all. Instead, let the hot weather dry it naturally. If you really need to dry your hair quickly, then use a cooler setting so that you don’t strip your hair of oils or make it even drier than it probably already is. You’ll also want to avoid using hair irons as well.

Get the right products
Depending on your type of hair, you might need to rely on different types of products. There’s rarely ever a single solution for all of your problems, so look around for biracial hair products, oily scalp products and natural solutions to help bolster your hair care range. If you have friends and family members with a similar hair type to you, then make sure you ask them for some advice if you’re new to buying special hair care products for your situation. |
Loosen up your hair
Try not to keep your hair too tight in the summer. It can be more damaging than usual because of the dry summer heat, so you’ll want to avoid tight tails as much as possible. If you’re going to be out in the sun for a long time and prefer your tighter hairstyles, then try to cover it up with a scarf or hat to shield yourself from the UV rays. It also helps your scalp keep its moisture, preventing it from drying out too quickly. As an added bonus, it’ll also help keep your hair tidy when there’s a breeze blowing. |
Wash less frequently
Washing, as we all know, removes the natural oils that keep your hair looking and feeling great. This causes our scalp to produce more oil which causes that “I really need to wash my hair again” feeling. When washing your hair, try to stick to natural hair products if possible to keep your hair free of those nasty chemicals. If you’ve just hopped out of a pool or come back from the beach, give your hair a quick rinse with water instead of washing your hair normally if you plan to shower later on.

So whether you’ve got curly hair, short hair or incredibly long waist-length hair, make sure you take the right measures to protect it this summer.
