Some people really love to garden. They’ll spend hours outside tending to their flowers and plants, mowing their lawns and weeding garden beds. They take great pleasure in creating a beautiful outdoor space, and great pride in showing it off to friends, family and neighbors. Other people...hmmm, not so much. They don’t see the appeal in gardening and landscaping, yet they still want an attractive yard that they can enjoy spending time in.
If you're someone who enjoys spending time outdoors but you don't really have much a green thumb, we came up with five simple ways to help improve the look of your landscape without a lot of time and effort.

Five Simple Ways To Improve Your Landscape
1. Add Some Color
The most common way to add color to any garden is with flowers and plants, but not all of us have a green thumb. Thankfully, artificial flowers and plants for outdoor use have come a long way and are available in just about every color and style. Try mimicking Mother Nature's summer color palette by adding faux plantings in shades of blues, greens, oranges and yellows.
2. Build A Pond
You might assume that building a pond is a great undertaking but that's not necessarily the case. If you choose a small decorative pond fitted with the right pond aerators and accessories, it will largely take care of itself. If you don’t fancy a pond or haven’t got the space, a smaller water feature like a birdbath or a fountain can be a great choice. Adding a water feature makes it more relaxing, attracts wildlife to your garden and gives you an impressive feature that people will love.
3. Use Pretty Planters
Planters can be a great option if you want flowers, plants or even a herb garden, but you are short on space or time. Planting flowers in a planter makes them simpler to care for, minimizes weeds and they are easy to remove at the end of the season (assuming they aren’t perennial).
Regardless of whether they are standing planters or hanging planters, choose pots in fun colors, styles and patterns to help make a statement and enhance the overall appearance of your garden.

4. Add Attractive Textiles
When we think of textiles, we think of indoor accessories like curtains, rugs, cushions and throws. Taking your textiles outdoors is a great way to add comfort and style to your space. Add a large outdoor area rug to your deck or patio, as it adds color, texture and helps to anchors the space. Throw pillows and chair cushions add comfort and style.
5. Include Accent & Mood Lighting
Improved technology means you can find all sorts of attractive solar (and hardwired) lights for path lighting; fun & funky string and fairy lights for mood lighting and ambiance; and even quirky solar accent pieces to decorate and illuminate your garden. Wireless Bluetooth speakers can pull double duty as lighting fixtures, too. To make lighting your space even more effortless, set electrical patio lighting with a timer or use a smart plug to turn on and off.
Your garden is an extension of your home and is a wonderful way to showcase your style and personality. Have fun with it!
