From pruning and planting, to choosing the perfect patio furniture, you need to be able to transform your garden into that Oasis you really want. Let's take a look at some tips to help you do it.
Enjoy Your Garden This Summer With These Tips
1. Get Your Garden Tidy
You don't have to do this yourself if you don't want to because you could hire somebody to come and do it for you. Tidying up your garden doesn't have to take very long, but it starts by mowing and feeding the lawn, weirding out all the old flowers and pruning any shrubbery that you have that needs a bit of a tidy up. Winter can do a number on your garden, but giving it a little spruce up can help you to create the space you want to sit in.
2. Start Aerating The Ground
You want to keep your lawn lush especially if you want to have some outdoor picnics this summer. Core aeration is the best way to reduce any compaction of the soil and help to retain the moisture. You can get somebody to do this for you, so speak to a landscaper and a professional gardener who can come out and look after your ground so that you can have the lush grass you're looking for.
3. Keep Up With Weeding
Once you've weeded the garden to tidy up all of the extra plants that you don't have any useful, keep up with that every week. Doing this will help your garden to look neat, healthy and be ready all summer. Make sure that you do start weeding early in the season though, because we do tend to grow out of nowhere! You want to be able to keep ahead of them.
4. Clean Your Garden Furniture
The patio furniture or the deck furniture you've been stashing for the last six months needs to be removed from the shed, hose down and scrubbed and left out to air dry. You want everybody to have somewhere to sit during the summer when they're visiting you, so you need to get the furniture cleaned so that it's enjoyable for everybody.
5. Clean The Barbeque
If you left the barbeque locked up and put away for the entire year since the last one you had last summer, then it's time to get it out and scrape off all the crud. Make sure that you have somebody come out to clean it for you and check the gas cylinder if you haven't got the time, but make sure you get it cleaned because all of that garden entertainment that you have ready is going to be so much better when you have a BBQ to use.
