You probably already recycle (OK, you better be recycling!); maybe you use some eco-friendly cleaning products; perhaps you’re a vegan or vegetarian--but have you given any thought to natural, eco-friendly beauty products?
10 Under $20 Totally Affordable Natural Beauty ProductsI figured what better way to celebrate Earth Month than by highlighting some of the most purest and gentlest self-care products. Below, I’ve put together 10 under $20 of the best botanical, organic, vegan and ethically made beauty products on the market that will help you put your best self forward!
Weleda is the OG of organic products--the company has been around for almost 100 years. With no synthetic anything added to its formulas, along with no animal testing, the brand is committed to keeping it all-natural. I had the luxury of testing this product as part of an Influenster box last year, and absolutely loved it. Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream contains certified organic shea butter, is rich in essential fatty acids and has natural plant extracts which help stimulate skin renewal to keep hands soft and protected. This line is in just about every drug store, making it the easiest on this list to grab. This lip shimmer in Guava is my go-to lip product. It’s a soft lilac hue that would look great on all skin tones. It’s enriched with shea butter, beeswax and antioxidant rich fruit oils to moisturize and nourish lips, and softens with sunflower seed oil. What doesn’t it have? The list is endless: No propylene glycol, butylene glycol, polyisobutene, parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, DMDM hydantoin, sodium lauryl, sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, mineral oil, paraffin, or synthetic sunscreens. Don’t like this shade? Don’t worry, they have 14 stunning shades to choose from!
What’s in this product? Argan oil. Yep, that’s it. Use it on your hair to smooth frizz or as a heat protectant; use it to soften skin (I use mine on my cuticles, elbows and heels); you can even add a few drops to your bath water or to moisturize after your shower!
FOUR: Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Perfume Spray, 1 Ounce, $19.29
I first discovered this perfume while checking out the goodies in the health and beauty aisle at Whole Foods. The minute I smelled this, I was immediately transported to a blooming garden paradise (I wish!). This floral fragrance has a blend of gardenia, orange, jasmine, and tea notes and is made with all good stuff--100% organic ingredients and natural essential oils. No animal testing, no parabens, and bonus: gluten-free.
FIVE: Natural Skin Care at Home: How to Make Organic Moisturizers, Masks, Balms, Buffs, Scrubs, and Much More, $19.99
With a 4.5 star review on Amazon, Natural Skin Care at Home: How to Make Organic Moisturizers, Masks, Balms, Buffs, Scrubs, and Much More (hardcover) features DIY skincare products made from recipes that are organic, (nearly all) vegan (beeswax is used in some) and ingredients that are easy to come by (think: shea butter, plants and flowers, herbs, salts and more).
SIX: Mayberry Konjac Exfoliating Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal, Green Tea, and Turmeric – 6 Pack - 100% Natural Face Sponge, $16.95
Konjac Sponges are great for exfoliating the face to reveal a more refined feel, a radiant complexion, and healthier appearance. They are made with 100% konjac root fibers (native to Asia) that are excellent for eliminating impurities and exfoliating the face. Infused with natural bamboo, charcoal, green tea and tumeric, these sponges will help reveal a more radiant complexion and healthier appearance to the skin. Konjac sponges are biodegradable and free of toxins, pollutants, and artificial additives!
SEVEN: ACURE Brightening Facial Scrub, 4 Ounce, $8.49
Speakin’ of your face...this vegan, sulfate free, paraben free and cruelty free product seems to be on every beauty editors’ “best of” list! And it’s no wonder. Acure Brightening Facial Scrub gently removes dirt and oil while feeding and restoring cells--it stimulates new cell growth with “chlorella growth factor”. Great for all skin types!
EIGHT: HAN All Natural Cheek and Lip Tint, $16
HAN Skincare has done what so many "green" brands have failed to do: create a totally effective, completely wearable range of color cosmetics that are pure but yet still affordable. Their cheek and lip tints are free of chemicals known or suspected to be toxic, like the silicones, bismuth oxychloride, phthalates and petrochemicals found in other multi-use sticks. Contains organic argan oil and vitamin E, as well as acai oil and pomegranate and blueberry extracts.
Jessica Alba’s got her finger on the pulse of all that is natural. All of her Honest Beauty products are free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, PEGs, polyquaterniums, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, mineral oil, paraffins, DEA/MEA/TEA, steareth-n, formaldehyde carriers, synthetic fragrances or dyes (phew!) This gentle everyday cleanser washes away dirt + impurities leaving your skin feeling so fresh and so clean, every time. And it's infused with Chamomile + Calendula Extracts to calm and refresh, plus this gentle formula doesn't overdry or strip skin. Add this staple to your skincare lineup, asap.
This mascara is a favorite of mine because it doesn’t make my eyes itch or burn (a problem I typically have with other brands). It volumizes and extends lashes, and it doesn’t clump or smudge! It’s as pure a formula as you can buy--vegan, gluten free, fragrance free, paraben free and all natural.
What are some of your favorite, all natural beauty products? I'd love to know, because I'm always down to try something new.
By the way--remember this Earth Month to not just take care of Mother Nature, but of yourself as well! The whole ACURE line is great, I swear by their clarifying shampoo. I have also found that the best thing I can do for an eco-friendly beauty routine is a simple beauty routine, less production of less plastic bottles, etc. My acne prone face has been loving the ACURE facial cleanser for sensitive skin followed by aloe vera gel and argan oil for moisture.

Thanks for sharing. I love Burt's Bees - I need to try more of their products. The Sea-Salt Spray from The Honest Company looks great too.
