by Katie Grant of Celebrating With The Bug
Father’s Day is almost here, and I have been racking my brain to come up with the perfect menu! When it comes to planning a meal, I feel like there are a million variables to consider: What does Dad like? Do I need to prep before church? How many people will be chowing down (in my case this is a very important question, as my husband is the oldest of nine, and I haven't even counted my side of the family yet)? Are we eating inside or outside (maybe even at the park)? June tends to bring lovely weather to our neck of the woods. Then again, I'm pretty sure there has been South Dakota snowfall in June before. Welcome to my brain! It runs a mile a minute, and I usually have about five things going at any one time! Speaking of which, what is the forecast for Father's Day again, and hey, where are the kids? It's been quiet for a while… For Father's Day dinner this year, relax and leave the overthinking to me! I've put together the ideal father-inspired, indoor/outdoor, prepare-ahead-of-time, easy-to-make-as-little-or-as-much-as-you-like, and economical Father’s Day menu! Dishes For Dad: A Delicious And Fun Father's Day Feast
Barbecue Pulled Chicken Sandwiches
When planning a menu, I like to start with the main dish and roll from there. These barbecue pulled chicken sandwiches are a standby in this household and the perfect thing to plan my Father’s Day menu around! Using a crock pot instead of the grill will allow me to prep ahead of time (and to save my father and husband from grilling their own dinner)!
Ranch And Bacon Style Potato Salad
Warm weather screams potato salad to me. Neither of the fathers in my life are big fans of classic potato salad, which is why we are going with this ranch and bacon style potato salad instead!
Fruit With Yogurt
Caring and loving fathers are true superheroes in my eyes, and this Captain America fruit tray will let Dad know he is the hero in your life!
Chocolate Cherry Cake
Don’t forget dessert! My son and I made this Chocolate Cherry Darth Vader Cake for Father’s Day a couple of years ago, and it is probably the most memorable Father's Day dessert we have served! It is super-moist and has great flavor! Of course, you can use any pan you like! Thank you for checking out this post and my special thanks goes to Daneen for allowing me to share my ideas with you today! Have a wonderful Father's Day!
I want to thank Katie so, so, sooooooo much for this awesome post! Please be sure to check out her website for more fantastic ideas:

All of these sound FABULOUS! We have been making lots of pulled pork BBQ sliders lately, so our taste buds must be on the same page 😉. And since Father's Day is right near my dad's birthday, there's always chocolate cake too!

All this looks tasty! I won't be cooking though, I tend to burn things. We're ordering pizza!

Yum! This recipe looks amazing! I love that you only need a few eggs and a can of cherries (and of course all that CHOCOLATE!) I could totally see myself making the Chocolate Cherry Darth Vader Cake for my own dad!
