Don’t underestimate the power of a small charity shop. You will likely have multiple charity shops in your local area which you have never even visited, and you could really be missing out on a lot of great stuff here. A lot of the time charity shops will price things very low because they either don’t understand the value or they want to free up space, so you could end up finding a lovely piece which fits your idea that costs a fraction of the price.
Auction houses are also a great option for you if you want to buy new items. At an auction house you will either have a room full of experts or a room full of novices, so it can be hit and miss, however the items you will be able to see are simply amazing. You can see amazing antiques, some stunning unique items and lots of great bargains if you visit on a weekday. Make sure you bring your strong arm for bidding!
Rearrange the room
Before you start looking at new additions to your home, think about taking the time to arrange the furniture you have in your living space. Once you are happy with the setup you have you can take a picture and also decide what you think is missing from the room. You will be able to have lots of amazing ideas by setting a room up in a different way because you will start to see things from a different perspective.
Think of space
Before you start buying new things you need to think about how much space you have in the home. The last thing you want to do is over fill your home with lots of furniture and end up with no walking room whatsoever. You can think about measuring all of the free areas you have and make sure to stick to either these measurements or a size which is slightly smaller than what you need.
