We’ve all had that moment where we look around at our dusty, less-than-immaculate, lived-in home and think, “I wish I could remodel this place.” Yet, most of us don’t have the time (or the money) to even begin such an undertaking, so we just wish...and hope...and dream. Maybe we’ll get around to it one day.
In the meantime, there are lots of little ways to jazz up your home with just a few key pieces here and there: whether it’s art or other decor, a cool new efficient appliance, a fresh coat of paint - there’s no limit to the fun little tweaks you can make to your home and the cool new items you can add - affordably - that will make your place look like brand new. Convenient and Efficient Little Touches to Jazz Up Your Home
Cordless LightingCordless lighting is a hot (pun intended) new trend that’s making waves all over. Because it’s so convenient, not to mention incredibly efficient (it uses less power than its corded counterparts and needs to be replaced half as often) many people are switching to this type of lighting. Cordless lighting is also a safe choice, as it’s less risky when you have little ones around who might trip over a cord or try to pull it from the wall. Cordless lighting is versatile and looks great in any room, and comes in a wide variety of styles and choices. It is so durable, functional, stylish and cost-effective that you’ll never go back!

Chalkboard PaintThis is a must-have item for anybody with kids (or anybody who runs a busy house, honestly). Chalkboard paint is a genius way to please the art-lover in your life and keep them from ruining the walls. It cuts down on the damage done by tacks and nails, when you hang up tons of posters and pictures. Instead, let them make their own art! Chalkboard paint is durable and long-lasting and works with any chalk. Another fun idea is to paint one section in your kitchen or office with this paint, and use it for your checklists and to-do’s!

Dual AppliancesOriginally geared towards the college-crowd (since space is often an issue in dorm rooms, and convenience is necessary), more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon and buying small dual appliances to make life easier. Coffeepot/griddles, toaster oven/hot plate, and coffee pot/smoothie maker are all dual appliances on the market and there are tons more to choose from. It’ll save space in your kitchen and save you time doing dishes and cleaning up after cooking, too. And despite the great cost and small size, these little gadgets are often well worth the money. Plus, they usually come in cool colors and designs.

DIY FurnishingsIt’s very on-trend right now to scour local flea markets, antique shops and charity shops for retro or antique furniture that needs a little TLC, and revamping it to make it your own. A coat of bright, funky paint or some restoration can take a piece a long way. Want an accent piece for your foyer but can’t afford that expensive antique desk? Find one locally and restore it to make it look brand new (or really old, whatever strikes your fancy). You can look up instructions and guidelines for all sorts of restoration online, and it’s so much easier (and more fun) than you think!
