The Challenge:  Interior Decor

According to a survey from Home Goods, the average American has not updated their home decor in the last five years and 9% percent haven't in more than 10 years!  Is this because of a lack of time or interest on their parts, or a combination of both?  According to the survey, "A little over a third (36%) spend just 5-8 waking hours in their homes each day, and 26% said they spend 9-12 hours a day at home". 

Tackle It: 
Whatever the case, it's really not that hard to reinvent a room, and can be done in one weekend.  The trick is not to overwhelm yourself.  A fresh coat of paint, some new linens, a few new accessories and voila--a brand new space!

​The Challenge:  Yard Work

Much like the interior, it doesn’t take long for the exterior of your home to become messy and unkempt.  Staying on top of the yardwork and performing regular garden maintenance can keep your outdoor space healthy and thriving.

Tackle It:
If you find it's challenging to find the time to do yard work, consider hiring a teen through your local high school's job bank.  They can perform simple yard work tasks like mowing, trimming and watering on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.  Remember:  Be sure to check references and pay them a decent wage.  After all, you get what you pay for!

The Challenge:  Moving / Relocating

I can't think of a single person who doesn't dread moving house. Between purging, packing, schlepping (yes, schlepping), unpacking, organizing and putting away, moving house is about as much fun as a root canal. 

Tackle It: 
Moving companies come in all different varieties from large, worldwide companies with tractor trailers and shipping containers to small local pros with a handful of trucks and loads of good reviews. It doesn't hurt to get a few estimates from reputable moving companies to see what's best for you and your budget.  What you spend in money you can save in sanity!

The Challenge:  Housework
